Transfer/Secondment of UKPPS staff to National Crime Agency

Colleagues,

Please find attached the final UNISON advice for members who work in public protection in Regional Organised Crime Units who have declared an interest in voluntarily transferring or seconding from their force to the National Crime Agency (NCA).

UNISON has been in discussion over recent months with the NCA to resolve some outstanding issues in relation to the transfer and secondment arrangements.

UKPPS transfer advice jan 19

UNISON is advising that:

    1. The Statutory Instrument which will govern the transfer of staff to NCA appears in order and the necessary protections for members are in place. Staff have to sign a formal declaration of intent to transfer to NCA by tomorrow 18 January. UNISON therefore advises members who wish to voluntarily transfer to NCA that the Statutory Instrument appears to be in order and that members who wish to transfer can sign the declaration.
    2. There remain some outstanding issues with the proposed secondment agreement which we are seeking to resolve with NCA. At this point we are therefore advising members who wish to second to NCA to hold off signing the secondment agreement. We expect these to be resolved shortly.

We are continuing our dialogue with NCA to resolve the final issues with the secondment agreement.
